Alain at L'Etape du Tour

Alain took part at the public stage of Tour de France on Wednesday 16^th July 2003 from Pau to Bayonne.

Alain was not the only VIP driver. Formula 1 test driver Takuma Sato was also at the start but had to give up with a pain in his calf. Miguel Indurain was also taking part.

I don't have the complete results available here, but Alain finished the race in position 202. Alain said after the race: "From my reserve at the beginning due to persistent back pain, I think I managed my race well, my aim was to finish in the first 400, which I have done!"

Congratulations to Alain to finish this tough race in a very good position. 7000 riders were at the start of this race and very many had to give up…
