The reason, why there are news of Alain today, is, that there was a rumour about Alain going around the world. The first time, I heared of this rumour, was end december 1996. An Alain Prost-fan from Japan was asking me, if I knew something about Alain's daughter. I searched for this in my huge collection of newspaper-cuttings and found an article of a French magazine printed in december 1989. The article said, that Alain's wife awaits a daughter soon. As we all know, it was a son called "Sacha", born 5 months later. But I found nothing else about a daughter. But now, it seems, that the rumour has made it through the whole world in the meantime and I was astonished at the fact, that the rumour made it's way to the biggest Alain Prost Grand Prix page on the Net, Alan Wongs Homepage in Hong Kong. And for the first time I heared a name of the Girl - Victoria. I thought, that this must be a rumour, because of the name. Alains sons are called "Nicolas" and "Sacha" - French names. And now a girl called "Victoria"? Not possible, I thought. Someone must have thought to Alains 51 victories and must have had the impression, "Victoria" would be a good name for Alains daughter. A nice idea... But I wanted to be sure it really is only a rumour. So I called his wife Anne-Marie and asked her, if Alain has a daughter called "Victoria". "No, no", she answered, "no daughter, we have two sons, Nicolas and Sacha". That was the whole story about the rumour. But somehow it's nice to hear a new rumour about Alain... We haven't had such a nice rumour since a long time...

An important note to all Prost-fans: Do not believe all the things about Alain you read. A lot of them are not true. That's another reason for my homepage: I try to put only those things on my page, of which I know, that they are really true. Of course, that's not always easy: I don't give a guarantee for the statistics, because there are a lot of different statistics. But I took most of my statistics out of Grand Prix Data Book 2, of which I know, that it's abook with high quality statistics... And I don't give a guarantee for the interviews. I found some errors by checking German translations of interviews. I saw, that some interviews aren't translated exactly. And I even found some totaly different questions and answers. But I didn't want to make changements at the interviews. The biggest part is o.k. anyway, but some slight changements of words can make a big difference...

By the way: I wrote in the above text, that I called Alain's wife. If you want the private phone number of Alain, I'm sorry, but I don't give it to other people. I sometimes give the number to good friends of which I know, that they don't have the idea to call Alain weekly or even daily. We (the friends of Alain) should respect his private life and not disturb him and his family the whole time. I think, you would not like it as well, even if the people calling would be your fans...
