Welcome to Prostfan.comThank you for visiting the biggest fansite dedicated to Alain Prost, Nicolas Prost, and Team Prost Grand Prix! UpdatesI work on Prostfan.com whenever I find the time. My goal is to update the site at least once a week, although this is purely a hobby — so I sometimes miss that target. Be sure to bookmark www.prostfan.com, so you will always find your way back.... Technical informationEvery single page on this website was created by me — no automated website builder, no fancy CMS. - From 1995–1999, I built the pages using Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0
- From 2000–2002, I used Microsoft Word 2000
- Since 2003, I’ve been using the PROTON Code Editor
History of Prostfan.comI’ve been online since August 1995, just a few years after the World Wide Web became publicly accessible. Back then, there were hardly any Alain Prost websites — the only one I found was created by Alan Wong, now known as the Alain Prost Grand Prix Homepage (which today is also hosted on the Prostfan.com server) Inspired by Alan’s work, I decided to create my own website. I didn’t know anything about web design at first, but I learned step by step — and by June 1996, the first version of my site was ready. The official "birthday" of this website was August 27, 1996, after I had finished typing out all the results from Alain’s 199 Formula 1 races by hand! At first, I called it “Alain Prost Homepage 2”, thinking Alan Wong’s was the first. But shortly after, a friendly Prost fan from Uruguay, Santiago de Tezanos Faget, told me that his own site ("Formula Prost") was technically the second. He meant this as a joke, but I renamed mine to "Alain Prost Homepage 3" (AP-H3) — and that name stuck for nine years! Growth and Milestones- 1998: Founded the "Prost-Webring", which connected the Alain Prost related websites.
- 1998: Registered the domain www.prostfan.com which later became the site’s permanent name.
- 1999: Registered the domain www.alainprost.net.
- 2000 Partnered with "Rivals Europe", then the largest sports network, to host my Team Prost content. I also added a search engine to the site, which you can find on the homepage.
- 2001: Left Rivals.net and moved all the content to Bluewin servers in Switzerland.
- 2003: Alain’s son Nicolas Prost began racing in Formula Campus — and agreed to write exclusive race reports for this site. Therefore, a Nicolas Prost Page was added to this website.
- 2004: Moved to my own shared web server at Hostpoint, allowing me to upload far more pages and photos. That same year, Alan Wong’s site also joined Prostfan.com — uniting the two biggest Alain Prost fansites on one server.
- 2005: Officially rebranded to Prostfan.com.
- 2006: Added a password-protected Member Area. The site grew beyond 500 MB, received over 130,000 hits, and had 850,000+ page views in a single year!
- 2007:The size of the website doubled within a year and exceeded the 1 GB mark. Almost 140'000 visitors stopped by.
- 2021: The size exploded over the years — now over 12 GB of Alain Prost history!
The Future of Prostfan.comMy plans are: - Complete race-by-race statistics, quotes and photos from all of Alain's races
- More updates, more news (several times a week)
- Alain's complete biography year by year
- More interviews (translations)
- Adding information about Victoria Prost (removed by request of Alain in the past)
- More content in the members area
