![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About meHi, my name is Oskar Schuler. I'm the biggest Alain Prost-Fan in Switzerland and also the webmaster of this fansite, which I started creating back in 1995 (also see the history of this fansite for more). I was born on November 20, 1972, and grew up in Gersau, a small village with fewer than 1'900 inhabitants at the time. It’s located in the heart of Switzerland, beside Lake Lucerne and surrounded by mountains — truly one of the most beautiful places on Earth, if you ask me. How it all started
In February 1987, a Swiss magazine published a great portrait of Alain, which I kept aside. Soon, I started cutting out every photo and article I could find about him. Over time, my collection grew — photos, model cars, posters, books, autographs and more. I even placed ads in motorsport magazines to connect with other Prost fans and began exchanging memorabilia with collectors from around the world. Today, my Alain Prost collection includes thousands of newspaper clippings and magazine articles from over 20 countries, thousands of original photographs, thousands of original autographs, more than 30 different books about Alain, countless stickers, videos, model cars, pins, clothing and other memorabilia — just about everything and anything related to Alain and his family. I’ve been lucky enough to visit several Formula 1 races over the years and I met a lot of Formula 1 drivers. My first visit to a Formula 1 race was at the Australian Grand Prix 1993, the final race of Alain Prost. Meeting Alain Prost and his son NicolasWhen I met Alain, my childhood hero, for the first time, it has been a dream come true. I feel very lucky to have met him over a dozen times, in fact:
Alain has always been very friendly and accessible to me. In 2010, Alain even gave me his trophy he won at the Trophée Andros race at Saint-Dié-des-Vosges — a moment I’ll never forget. I’m also very proud that he knows me by name and even follows me on Instagram. And I will never forget when we were watching the Formula E qualifying standing side by side at Zurich in 2018. When Alain’s son Nicolas Prost began racing, I naturally started following his career as well. I’ve attended many of his races and other events he attended. Other interestsAs a kid, Alain Prost was more than just my idol — he was my main hobby! Most of my interests somehow revolved around Formula 1 and Alain. In my late teens, I got into sim racing, using a steering wheel setup on my computer. From 2006 to 2010, I competed in Trackmania Nations Forever, competing with teams like RealF1Racing (RFR) and BBG F1-Clan — Monaco was always my favourite track, of course! I’m also passionate about music. My favourites include:
However, I like a lot of different music, especially from the 80s and 90s. Back in the 1990s, I even created some German karaoke files for Real Orche, then the world’s leading karaoke system, and helped my cousin run a related website. I’ve also designed and hosted a few websites for other family members and friends over the years. Another passion of mine is helping other Prost fans expand their collections. I enjoy trading and exchanging memorabilia with other Formula 1 enthusiasts. I also have quite a big autograph collection — mainly of racing drivers, but also of other famous people. However, I only collect autographs on large photos (size DIN A4) If you’re interested in exchanging autographs, feel free to contact me. However, I'm mainly interested in Alain Prost autographs, and will trade my other (non-Prost) ones. Since 2015, I’ve been taking motorsport photography more seriously. After buying my first DSLR camera, I began working as a freelance press photographer/journalist, complete with a press pass. I also take photos at sport events outside of motor racing, like dog agility events or beach volleyball tournaments. You can check out some of my photos at motorsportphotos.ch - A selection of my photos can be bought at Shutterstock. Work LifeOf course, I also have a full-time job to fund all my hobbies. Since May 1994, I’ve worked for the canton of Schwyz — first as a tax officer in the source tax department for 11 years, then (in various roles) at the IT department of the tax administration and finally since 2023 as a web publisher in the communication department of the state chancellery. Let’s ConnectI always like to hear from other Prost-fans, so don't hesitate to contact me. You can also find out more about the history of this website. You can also find Prostfan.com on Facebook for more pictures and updates about the Prost family — and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, where I’m most active these days. ![]() ![]() |
