Nico Prost joins Gravity

Gravity Sport Management has announced that Nicolas Prost has joined its line-up for 2011. The press release reads as follows:

Nicolas, the son of four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost, has a distinguished racing career of his own. In 2008 Nicolas was crowned Euroseries 3000 champion and he has also appeared in A1GP, Spanish F3, Renault World Series, French GT and Formula Renault. Over the winter of 2009-2010 he won the inaugural electrical car category of the Andros Trophy ice racing series, repeating the feat this year.

In 2011 Nicolas will drive for Rebellion Racing in the newly-formed Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, which kicks off with this weekend’s 12-hour race at the US circuit of Sebring. Rebellion has made an impressive start to the year by topping the timesheets at pre-season testing for the series, which includes the famous Le Mans 24-Hour race. Nicolas has already raced three times at Le Mans, two of them in the flagship LMP1 category in which he will compete this year alongside team-mates Neel Jani and Jeroen Bleekemolen.

During 2011 Nicolas will also provide demonstration runs of the Lotus Renault Formula 1 car at Renault World Series race weekends. He is then scheduled to return to the Andros Trophy over the winter as he bids for a hat-trick of titles.

"I’m thrilled to have signed up with Gravity Sports Management," said Nicolas. "I have a busy year ahead and the pace is already hotting up for the start of the ILMC season out here in Sebring. Our pace looked good during the test at Paul Ricard so we’ll really hope to make the most of that this weekend.

"I’m also looking forward to the chance to drive the Lotus Renault F1 car during the year. It will be great to get another taste for the very latest top-of-the-range machinery, after the run I did with Renault F1 Team in Magny Cours last year. Afterall, it’s fair to say I have Formula 1 in my blood!".
